Many of you may not be aware of the fact that Google as updated it’s search algorithm, now called “Hummingbird”. One of Hummingbird’s areas of focus is on conversational search. People, when speaking searches, may find it more useful to have a conversation. An example of this may be “Who are web designers in Port Coquitlam” A traditional search engine might focus on finding matches for words — finding a page that says “web” and “designer,”. Hummingbird should better focus on the meaning behind the words. It may better understand the actual location of your area, if you’ve shared that with Google.

Guidance remains the same with SEO. You should always have original, high-quality content. Signals that have been important in the past remain important; Hummingbird just allows Google to process them in new and hopefully better ways.
